In the centre of Grohote there is a famous Buktenica&Buktenica Gallery.
It is only 100 m north-east from Villa. This gallery has a permanent exhibit of two famous Šolta’s painters. They are Eugen Buktenica Đenko (1914 – 1997) and his heir Vicko Buktenica who here, according to Eugen´s will created Memorial home and Gallery, and founded the Arts Association and continued the painting tradition.
They were one of the most famous painters of naive art. The gallery combines modernism and tradition together. It also hosts different social events, art workshops and exhibitions. It is a unavoidable place on Šolta’s cultural map.
If you are an art fan you must not miss this gallery.
