How to reach Šolta

When travelling to Šolta, you first have to get to Split, a town on the Adriatic Coast in the Middle of Dalmatia. There are several ways to get there.

BY PLANE:

The Split Airport is the second biggest in Croatia and it is very well connected with most European countries in the summer months. The distance between airport and ferry port is about 22 kilometres. It usually takes you about 45 min to get to Split from the airport. There is a shuttle bus from the airport or you can take a taxi or bus to get there. There is also a taxi boat service if you wish to avoid seasonal traffic congestions and get to Šolta straight from the airport.

Thanks to the new motorway it is easy to get to different destinations within Croatia. Because of geographical barriers there are many tunnels, bridges and viaducts. Nevertheless, the whole motorway is monitored and pretty safe. It is a toll road system. If you are coming to Split from direction of Zagreb you can also take D1 state road, or D8 state road if coming from direction of Rijeka.

BY BUS:

The Split Bus Terminal is well connected to different European destinations. The terminal is located across the road from the Split ferry port which makes it easier to get onto the ferry to islands. Bus services are frequent and regular with towns in Croatia, and abroad.
